Hyosung TNS Considers Greenfield ATM Manufacturing Facility in Tamil Nadu
Hyosung TNS, a South Korea-based manufacturer of self-banking and ATM technologies, is considering establishing a greenfield manufacturing facility in Tamil Nadu. The proposed plant would produce ATMs for the Indian market as well as for global supply.
The development follows discussions between company officials and Tamil Nadu Industries and Investment Promotion Minister Keerthana during her investment outreach visit to South Korea. The Minister conveyed the state government's support for the initiative during the meeting held in Seoul.
No investment quantum, specific location within Tamil Nadu, or project timeline has been disclosed at this stage. The proposal remains at the expression-of-interest level, with the Tamil Nadu government indicating readiness to facilitate the project.
If formalised, the facility would position Tamil Nadu as a manufacturing base for ATM hardware serving both domestic banking infrastructure demand and international OEM supply chains. Tamil Nadu's existing electronics and precision manufacturing ecosystem has been cited as a key factor in attracting such proposals.
