Rameswar Teli, the minister of state for petroleum and natural gas, informed the Parliament that Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) was constructing a green hydrogen plant at the Visakha Refinery that could produce 370 tonnes of hydrogen annually using electrolyzers.

Out of a total financial allocation of Rs 33 crore for the project, the corporation has already spent Rs 11 crore, he noted.

This year's project will be finished in September. In response to a query from YSRCP MP Balashowry Vallabhaneni, this was said.
