HMDA Plans 51.4 km Greenfield Radial Road-2 Connecting ORR at Kotwalguda to RRR at Chityal
The Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) has finalised the alignment for Greenfield Radial Road-2, which will connect the Outer Ring Road (ORR) at Kotwalguda to the proposed Regional Ring Road (RRR) at Chityal in Pargi mandal. The corridor will span 51.4 km and is planned with a right-of-way width of 300 metres.
The road will traverse six mandals — Shamshabad, Shabad, Kondurg, and Pargi in Rangareddy and Vikarabad districts — passing through 26 villages including Shamshabad, Rayannaguda, Malkaram, Ramajipur, Solipet, Hayathabad, Damarlapally, and Tummalapalle.
The government has issued a land acquisition notification covering the six mandals in Rangareddy and Vikarabad districts. Road alignment approval has been granted, and junction works to connect the new corridor with the ORR at Kotwalguda are expected to commence shortly.
The project is part of HMDA's broader plan to develop nine radial roads linking the ORR and the proposed RRR, aimed at easing intra-city travel, supporting urban expansion in the Peripheral Urban Region (PUR), and improving connectivity to state and national highways.
Greenfield Radial Road-1, an approximately 18 km stretch running from the ORR at Raviryala exit via Future City and Mucherla to Akuthotapalli, is already under construction. No investment quantum has been disclosed for Radial Road-2 at this stage.
