Hindustan Power Achieves ₹1,135 Crore Financial Closure for 435 MWp Solar Project in Lalitpur, Uttar Pradesh
Hindustan Power has achieved financial closure for its 435 MWp/300 MW solar power project in Lalitpur district, Uttar Pradesh. The Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency (IREDA) has sanctioned debt of ₹1,135 crore for the project.
The project was awarded to Hindustan Power through a competitive bidding process by Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Ltd (UPPCL) in 2025, and carries a long-term power purchase agreement with UPPCL for supply over 25 years.
Construction work is now underway and progressing as per the planned development schedule. The project is among the largest solar developments in Uttar Pradesh and is expected to add to the state's renewable energy capacity while supporting its rising electricity demand.
Ratul Puri, Chairman of Hindustan Power, said the project marks a milestone in the company's renewable energy expansion, noting that Uttar Pradesh's growing energy demand and focus on renewables make projects of this scale significant for the state's clean energy capacity.
