High level committee chaired by CM gives nod to projects worth Rs 39,000 crore in several sectors in Odisha
Manufacturing - Sep 20,2024 -The high-level clearance authority (HLCA) meeting, chaired by Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, has approved 12 industrial projects totaling Rs 39,271.50 crore, bringing the overall investment to Rs 44,682.92 crore within the first 100 days of the BJP government.
These projects, which span various sectors including electronics system design and manufacturing (ESDM), steel, chemicals, cement, green ammonia, and plastics, will be distributed across eight districts and are expected to create approximately 17,098 jobs.
“This marks our first HLCA meeting, and we aim to establish Odisha as a leading investment hub in India. We have set an ambitious target of attracting Rs 2.5 lakh crore in investments over the next five years. We are implementing several initiatives to enhance Odisha's business-friendly environment,” the chief minister stated. He added that the approved projects during this period are anticipated to create 36,462 job opportunities.
In the ESDM sector, three significant proposals were approved: Silectric Semiconductor Manufacturing Pvt Ltd will set up a silicon carbide device manufacturing unit with an investment of Rs 3,034 crore, while Heterogeneous Integration Packaging Solutions plans to establish a manufacturing facility for glass substrates used in semiconductor packaging, investing Rs 1,926 crore. Additionally, Kaynes Circuits India’s project for printed circuit board (PCB) manufacturing, with an investment of Rs 1,395.5 crore, was also sanctioned. All three projects will be based in Khurda, with a total investment of Rs 6,355.50 crore and the potential to create 2,320 jobs.
