Hero Future Energies Bags 120 MW Project in SECI's FDRE RTC-V Tender
Hero Future Energies (HFE), the renewable energy arm of the Hero Group, has secured a 120 MW project in the Solar Energy Corporation of India's (SECI) auction for the supply of 1 GW of firm and dispatchable renewable energy on a round-the-clock (FDRE-RTC) basis. The project was awarded at a tariff of ₹5.25/kWh.
The project will be developed by Hero Solar Energy and will be integrated with an energy storage system in line with SECI's FDRE-RTC tender requirements. It will operate under a power purchase agreement (PPA) with SECI and is expected to be commissioned within 24 months of PPA execution.
SECI had launched its FDRE RTC-V tender in March 2026, seeking to procure 1 GW of FDRE-RTC power from ISTS-connected renewable energy projects integrated with energy storage systems.
Established in 2012, HFE holds a global renewable energy portfolio of 7.2 GWp along with 2.9 GWh of battery energy storage capacity across India, Ukraine, Vietnam and the UK, spanning operating and under-development projects. Its offerings extend beyond conventional wind and solar to hybrid power, peak power, FDRE and emerging technologies such as energy storage and green hydrogen.
The company also supplies renewable energy solutions to commercial and industrial customers in hard-to-abate sectors including chemicals, refining, manufacturing, steel, cement and transportation. HFE is backed by investors including the International Finance Corporation (IFC) and KKR.
