HCCB to Invest ₹1,127 Crore in New Vizianagaram Plant and Chittoor Expansion in Andhra Pradesh
Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages (HCCB) will invest ₹1,127 crore (US$117.5 million) in Andhra Pradesh to establish a new beverage manufacturing unit in Vizianagaram and expand its existing facility in Chittoor. The investment plan has been approved by Andhra Pradesh's State Investment Promotion Committee.
Of the total outlay, HCCB will invest ₹842 crore in the new Vizianagaram facility and ₹285 crore to expand its Srikalahasti unit in Chittoor. Together, the two plants are intended to support beverage demand across Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and adjoining southern markets.
The Vizianagaram plant will initially house three bottling lines with a combined annual capacity of 18 million cases, comprising carbonated soft drink lines for both large and small pack sizes, a juice line and a tetra-pack line. A planned second phase will add two more bottling lines with a further 12 million cases of annual capacity.
At the Chittoor facility, HCCB will add one packaged drinking water bottling line and two carbonated soft drink bottling lines. Once expanded, the plant will manufacture six brands, including Coca-Cola, Thums Up, Sprite, Fanta, Limca and Kinley water.
The Andhra Pradesh investment follows HCCB's recent commissioning of a high-speed Kinley Water production line at its Avinya facility in Telangana, capable of producing 500 ml Kinley PET bottles at up to 1,350 bottles per minute.
