Gujarat Maritime Board to modernise four key ports, invites DPR bids

Infrastructure May 05,2026

Gujarat Maritime Board has initiated plans to modernise four strategically important ports by inviting bids for detailed project reports (DPRs).

The move aims to enhance cargo handling capacity, improve infrastructure efficiency, and strengthen Gujarat’s position as India’s leading maritime state.

The modernisation is expected to support increasing trade volumes and align with national programmes like Sagarmala.

Gujarat currently handles a significant share of India’s non-major port cargo, making such upgrades crucial for future growth.
