Gujarat CM approves Rs 399 crore proposal for construction of two new bridges

Infrastructure  -  Jun 25,2024  -

The Gujarat government has announced the construction of two new bridges at a cost of Rs 399 crore in North Gujarat. The two new bridges will be built on State Highway Number 55.

Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has given his in-principle consent for the construction of two new river bridges. The Department of Roads and Building presented the proposals for both bridges.

At a cost of Rs 179 crore, one of the bridges would be constructed to span the river Banas on the Radhanpur-Himmatnagar road near Radhanpur. This will be a four-lane-wide bridge.

The 59-year-old bridge that spans the river Banas, close to Gochnad village, connects Radhanpur with Chanasma. Its lifespan is coming to an end, and traffic on this section of the river is increasing.

As a result, the plan to construct a new, four-lane bridge here has been approved by the Chief Minister. Around 40 lakh individuals would benefit from the newly planned bridge.
