Godrej Agrovet to Set Up ₹300 Crore Oil Palm Processing Unit in Khammam, Telangana
Godrej Agrovet Limited will establish an oil palm processing unit in Khammam district, Telangana, with an estimated investment of ₹300 crore. The facility will come up at Gubbagurthi village in Konijerla mandal, with the state government allocating 113.5 acres of land for the project. The development will include a processing unit, a nursery, an R&D centre, and a seed garden.
The project is expected to generate employment for more than 700 people. During discussions with the state government, company representatives requested an additional 35-40 acres for the seed garden, and also discussed plans for the upcoming launch of what is described as Telangana's first private integrated oil palm complex. The state Chief Minister has directed officials to widen roads leading to the processing facility, under the supervision of the Telangana Industrial Infrastructure Corporation Limited (TGIIC).
The project is expected to strengthen oil palm processing infrastructure in Telangana, with the associated road upgrades improving access to the site. The development is intended to support the state's expanding oil palm cultivation and processing ecosystem.
