Gadkari Approves ₹2,503 Crore Road Projects in Gujarat Including 196 km NH-351G Upgrade Under HAM and Wadia-Jetpur Bypasses
Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari has approved road projects worth an estimated ₹2,502.91 crore in Gujarat. The package covers the NH-351G upgrade and the construction of the Wadia and Jetpur bypasses.
The NH-351G upgrade is the larger project. It covers a 196 km stretch between Nageshri, Amreli and Chotila, at an estimated cost of ₹2,125.55 crore. It will be developed under the Hybrid Annuity Mode (HAM). Most of the highway will be upgraded to a 2-lane road with paved shoulders. Selected stretches will be 4-laned. These are the Amreli Bypass, the Jasdan-Atkot-Babra section and the segment through Chotila city.
The second project is valued at ₹377.36 crore. It covers the Wadia Bypass and Jetpur Bypass, including the Thanagalol realignment, along 20.44 km of NH-351. NH-351 connects Mahuva near Pipavav Port to Jetpur on NH-27, linking to the East-West Corridor. On completion, the bypasses will give a continuous 2-lane highway with paved shoulders.
The NH-351G upgrade will improve connectivity between Amreli, Rajkot and Surendranagar. It is expected to support freight movement and access to key economic corridors in Gujarat.
The source does not state tender dates, bidders, contractors or construction timelines. As the upgrade is on HAM, developers and EPC contractors can expect bid invitations at the tendering stage.
