Fujifilm to Invest ₹800 Crore in Greenfield Semiconductor Materials Manufacturing Plant in India

Chemicals Sep 18,2026

Fujifilm has announced an investment of about ₹800 crore (USD 83 million) to build a greenfield semiconductor materials manufacturing facility in India. The company announced the project on September 16. The source does not state the plant location.

The project will be developed in two phases. Investment will begin in October 2026, and commercial production is expected to start in fiscal year 2028.

Phase one will focus on front-end process chemicals used in semiconductor manufacturing. Phase two will cover semiconductor surface conditioning materials and high-purity chemicals. Its timing and scale will depend on the pace of growth in India's semiconductor industry and on customer demand.

The project is aligned with the India Semiconductor Mission (ISM) 2.0 policy, approved by the government in July 2026. Fujifilm said the investment is intended to strengthen the front-end semiconductor materials ecosystem in India and improve local supply chain resilience.
