Ansell Opens 17-Acre Surgical Glove Manufacturing Facility in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, with USD 60 Million Investment
Ansell has started operations at a greenfield surgical glove manufacturing facility on 17 acres in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu. The company is investing about USD 60 million in the facility.
The site is producing for the Indian market now. Additional capacity is due online in the coming months to supply key strategic markets, including the US, Germany, France and the UK. The company's India head said the investment is meant to serve the domestic market and exports to the US and Europe.
According to Ansell, one production line started in February 2026 at about 60 million pairs a year. The site is to scale to three lines by 2027, producing latex and synthetic surgical gloves at around 145 million pairs annually.
The plant design includes renewable energy generation and water recycling. The facility is designed for zero water discharge.
The new plant adds to Ansell's existing manufacturing base in Kovai, and expands surgical glove and medical consumables capacity in Tamil Nadu.
