Esri India and Bharat Electronics Sign MoU for Defence GIS and GeoAI Collaboration
Esri India and Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to collaborate on defence projects involving Geographic Information System (GIS), location intelligence and GeoAI. The two organisations have previously delivered joint projects for the Indian defence services, and the MoU is intended to deepen that partnership.
Under the agreement, BEL and Esri India will jointly pursue defence sector opportunities by combining BEL's expertise in defence electronics and systems integration with Esri India's GIS, location intelligence and GeoAI capabilities. The two companies will also work together to enable timely deployment of GIS solutions for surge-driven operational requirements across India's defence establishment.
As part of the collaboration, Esri India will provide training support to BEL to help the company build in-house GIS and GeoAI capability on its Indo ArcGIS platform.
The MoU is aligned with the Government of India's Make in India initiative, with both companies committing to leverage indigenous capability and technology-sharing for India's defence sector. The agreement was exchanged between BEL's Director (Bangalore Complex) & Additional Charge Director (Marketing) Rajnish Sharma and Esri India Managing Director Agendra Kumar.
