Elevated corridor work begins on NH-33 in Jamshedpur

Infrastructure  -  Jan 21,2025  -

The construction of the NH-33 elevated corridor officially started in a ceremonial event marked by traditional rituals and celebrations.

The event saw the presence of Jamshedpur MP Bidyut Baran Mahato and Jamshedpur West MLA Saryu Roy, along with BJP and JDU leaders.

The corridor, stretching 10.5 kilometers and costing Rs 610 crore, is expected to address the long-standing issue of traffic congestion and frequent accidents on NH-33.

MP Bidyut Baran Mahato expressed his gratitude to Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari for approving the project. “This corridor will bring relief to the city’s commuters and significantly reduce the rate of road mishaps,” he stated.

The elevated structure will start near the Kalimandir on NH-33 and extend to Baliguma, creating a seamless passage for vehicles traveling through Jamshedpur.
