Dreamfly Innovations, an Indian deep-tech company specialising in aviation battery technologies, will set up a 40,000 sq ft aviation battery manufacturing facility in North Bengaluru at an investment of ₹40 crore.

The facility will have an initial annual production capacity of 100 MWh, scalable to 200 MWh, which the company said would make it one of India's largest aviation battery manufacturing units dedicated to the drone sector. The plant will manufacture advanced batteries for a range of drone applications, including defence, surveillance, inspection, agricultural spraying, logistics and emerging air mobility platforms such as air taxis.

Dreamfly Innovations Co-Founder and CEO Kajal Shah said the facility is intended to develop state-of-the-art batteries domestically to support Indian drone manufacturers, as the country's drone economy expands. The company said its batteries carry 77 percent indigenous content, in line with the Kisan Drone Policy.

The project is positioned as supporting the government's Make in India, Atmanirbhar Bharat and Viksit Bharat 2047 initiatives by reducing dependence on imported aviation batteries for drones.

Commenting on the announcement, Vikas Verma, Partner at Avaana Capital, said the new facility reinforces Dreamfly's position in next-generation battery technologies and is expected to strengthen India's deep-tech manufacturing base while supporting the growth of the country's aerial mobility ecosystem.
