Infrastructure May 04,2026

Defence Research and Development Organisation has been allocated 600 acres in Andhra Pradesh for the development of infrastructure related to the Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA) programme.

The AMCA is India’s indigenous fifth-generation stealth fighter jet, aimed at enhancing air superiority with advanced avionics, stealth features, and supercruise capabilities.

The facility is expected to support manufacturing, testing, and ecosystem development involving public and private defence players.

The project forms a critical part of India’s push toward defence indigenisation and reducing reliance on imported combat aircraft.
