discoverIE Group plc, a UK-listed designer and manufacturer of customised electronic components for industrial applications, has opened a new manufacturing facility in Bengaluru, marking a milestone in the Group's expansion in India. At approximately 9,000 square metres, the facility in Jigani more than doubles the size of the Group's previous Bengaluru operation and provides three times the capacity of the earlier site.

The facility is part of discoverIE's Noratel business, which manufactures specialised power transformers and magnetic components for a range of industries. Around 70% of the site's production serves customers in India, supporting the country's renewable energy and industrial infrastructure markets. Initial production is expected to focus on products for the renewable energy sector, including wind systems, with the site also identified for potential future solar power generation initiatives.

The expansion follows the entry into force of the UK-India Free Trade Agreement on July 15, 2026, which the company said has created new commercial opportunities between the two countries. discoverIE currently employs more than 400 people across its operations in Trivandrum and Bengaluru; the Group as a whole employs approximately 4,600 people across 21 countries.

discoverIE is listed on the Main Market of the London Stock Exchange and is a constituent of the FTSE 250, classified within the Electrical Components and Equipment subsector. The company said the new facility will support future job creation in Bengaluru as production ramps up, while enabling it to serve both domestic customer growth and international export markets from the site.
