Diamond Power Infrastructure Commissions 8th MV/EHV Power Cable Production Line at Vadodara, Raises Total Capacity to 1,200 km Per Month; Two More Lines Planned by FY27
Diamond Power Infrastructure Limited has commissioned its 8th MV/EHV power cable production line at its Vadodara, Gujarat manufacturing facility, adding 150 km per month of production capacity through an investment of ₹30 crore funded via internal accruals. The expansion increases the company's total cable manufacturing capacity from 1,050 km to 1,200 km per month, representing a 14.3% increase.
The new line has been installed to meet rising demand for medium- and extra-high-voltage cables driven by transmission, distribution, renewable energy, and infrastructure projects across India. The company also plans to add two more production lines by FY27, which would further expand capacity and strengthen its position in the growing power infrastructure market.
The expansion reflects increasing investment by domestic cable manufacturers to capitalize on strong demand from utilities, EPC contractors, and grid modernization projects, supported by ongoing transmission and distribution network upgrades nationwide.
