Delta Electronics Proposes Greenfield "ARIVAM" Expansion at Krishnagiri Plant for AI Data Centre Testing
Delta Electronics India has initiated discussions with the Tamil Nadu government regarding a significant expansion of its existing manufacturing footprint in Krishnagiri. During a meeting with Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin, Delta's leadership, including President Benjamin Lin and Managing Director Niranjan Nayak, outlined proposals for a new greenfield project named ARIVAM.
The proposed facility is planned to serve as a hub for testing and validating technologies related to artificial intelligence data centres, renewable energy systems, and micro-grid management. The final timeline and total investment amount for the project are yet to be officially confirmed.
The proposal builds on Delta's existing Krishnagiri campus, spread across 95 acres near Hosur, which currently houses four large-scale factory buildings focused on high-efficiency power supplies, DC brushless fans, telecom power systems, industrial automation solutions, and data centre infrastructure. The company had earlier laid the foundation for two additional factory buildings at the site as part of its broader $500 million planned investment across India, expanding its total manufacturing units at Krishnagiri to four.
The proposed ARIVAM expansion aligns with growing demand for power management solutions to support AI-capable servers and cloud computing infrastructure, reflecting a shift toward higher-value engineering and testing work at the Krishnagiri site. The Tamil Nadu government has been positioning the state as a leading electronics manufacturing hub, with officials encouraging companies such as Delta to widen operations and establish dedicated R&D capabilities in the region.
