Andhra Pradesh Minister for Education and IT Nara Lokesh laid the foundation stone for the second phase expansion of Dalmia Bharat Cement's manufacturing facility at Chinnakomerlapalli in Mylavaram mandal, Kadapa district. The foundation-laying ceremony was attended by Puneet Dalmia, Managing Director and CEO of Dalmia Bharat Limited, along with senior company and government officials.

The expansion project involves an investment of ₹3,100 crore and will establish a next-generation integrated manufacturing facility designed to produce low-carbon cement, positioned as one of the greenest cement production processes globally. The project forms part of Dalmia Bharat's 2025 expansion announcement and is scheduled for commissioning in the third quarter of FY28.

Once completed, the Kadapa unit will become Dalmia Bharat's largest integrated manufacturing facility in southern India, with a clinker capacity of 6.1 MTPA and a cement manufacturing capacity of 9.6 MTPA. The Line-2 expansion is expected to significantly enhance the plant's production capacity while creating around 1,000 new jobs in the region.

During his visit, Minister Lokesh toured the plant's administration building, inspected the robotic laboratory and central control room, and interacted with employees before participating in the groundbreaking ceremony alongside Puneet Dalmia. The event was also attended by Andhra Pradesh Industries Minister T.G. Bharat, senior Dalmia Bharat executives including Growth and Expansion Senior Executive Director K.C. Birla, and local elected representatives, underlining the state government's continued push to attract large-scale industrial investment to the Kadapa region.
