Crown Packaging Breaks Ground on ₹2,078 Crore Aluminium Beverage Can Plant in Unnao, UP
Crown Packaging India Private Limited, the Indian subsidiary of global packaging company Crown Holdings, held a ground-breaking ceremony for its first manufacturing facility in India at the Integrated Manufacturing and Logistics Cluster (IMLC) in Unnao, Uttar Pradesh. The greenfield aluminium beverage can plant is being set up under the state's FDI Policy-2023.
The facility involves an investment of approximately ₹2,078.44 crore and will be developed across nearly 40 acres at Plot No. 4 of IMLC Unnao. The plant will manufacture aluminium beverage cans to serve the country's expanding beverage packaging industry.
The project marks Crown Holdings' first manufacturing unit in India and is expected to generate thousands of direct and indirect employment opportunities. Uttar Pradesh Industrial Development Minister Nand Gopal Gupta 'Nandi', speaking at the ceremony, said industrial projects announced in the state are increasingly being implemented on the ground rather than remaining at the registration stage, citing Crown's Unnao investment as an example.
The investment adds to manufacturing activity at IMLC Unnao and is aimed at meeting rising domestic demand for lightweight, efficient beverage packaging, integrating an international packaging company into Uttar Pradesh's industrial ecosystem.
