Coal Ministry issues LoA for coal gasification project under incentive scheme

Ministry of Coal has issued a Letter of Award for a coal gasification project under its financial incentive scheme aimed at promoting cleaner coal utilisation.
Coal gasification converts coal into syngas, which can be used for producing chemicals, fertilisers, and synthetic fuels.
India has set a target of 100 million tonnes of coal gasification by 2030 as part of its energy transition strategy.
The scheme is expected to attract private sector participation and reduce reliance on imported natural gas and petrochemical feedstock.
