CESC Arm Purvah Green Power Signs Agreement with Prism Johnson to Develop 49.5 MW Captive Wind Project in Ratlam, Madhya Pradesh
Purvah Green Power Private Limited, the renewable energy platform of CESC Limited under the RP-Sanjiv Goenka Group, has signed a power purchase agreement with Prism Johnson Limited on 25 September 2026. It is Purvah's first commercial and industrial (C&I) power supply agreement. The agreement covers a 49.5 MW wind power project in Madhya Pradesh.
The project will be built by KUS Renewable Private Limited, a subsidiary of Purvah Green Power. It will be located in Tehsil Alot, Ratlam district. The wind project will supply power to Prism Johnson's cement plant in Satna, Madhya Pradesh, for 25 years.
The project follows the group captive model. Prism Johnson will invest up to ₹40 crore in tranches to acquire a 26.5% stake in KUS Renewable, in equity shares and redeemable preference shares. Purvah will hold the remaining 73.5%. The 26.5% stake meets the ownership threshold for captive generation under the Electricity Rules, 2005. The project will be financed through a mix of debt and equity, with equity in proportion to ownership.
The scheduled commercial operation date is 25 January 2028. Prism Johnson's investment is targeted for completion by 31 October 2027.
Purvah's contracted renewable capacity stands at 4.8 GWp, of which 1.8 GWp is operational. This includes the 1.4 GWp solar portfolio it agreed to acquire from ReNew Solar Power in August 2026. RPSG plans to build a renewable platform of more than 10 GW.
