BPCL Signs MoU with FACT for Sulphuric Acid Supply, to Set Up First Sulphuric Acid Plant at Kochi Refinery
Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (BPCL) has signed a long-term Memorandum of Understanding with The Fertilisers and Chemicals Travancore Limited (FACT) for the supply of sulphuric acid from its Kochi Refinery. The MoU was signed by Sujeet Jayarajan, State Head, BPCL, and Jayanthan B, CGM Materials, FACT, in the presence of Sanjay Khanna and S. Sakthimani, Chairman & Managing Director, FACT.
The agreement paves the way for BPCL to set up its first sulphuric acid plant, positioning the company as one of the select refineries in India to produce sulphuric acid. No investment figure, capacity, or timeline was disclosed in the available information.
