Avaada to Commission ₹13,000 Crore Solar Cell Manufacturing Facility in Nagpur

Power Generation Jun 17,2026

Avaada Group is preparing to commence operations at its solar cell manufacturing facility in Nagpur, with the plant scheduled to go live next month. The facility, developed under Avaada Electro, will have a solar cell production capacity equivalent to 6,000 MW, positioning it as the largest such facility in the country.

The Nagpur site already operates a solar module manufacturing line with a capacity of 7,000 MW. Over the coming year, the company plans to progressively add polysilicon, ingot, wafer and cell production stages at the same location, moving toward a fully integrated manufacturing chain.

By December 2026, Avaada aims to have an integrated production flow from ingots through to finished solar modules at the Nagpur complex, reducing reliance on imported solar cells. The company is also planning a separate solar glass manufacturing unit at Nagpur to further localize its supply chain for module components.

The overall investment for the project is about ₹13,000 crore, of which close to ₹5,000 crore has already been deployed. Avaada Electro is continuing to scale its manufacturing footprint as part of this expansion.
