Aster DM Healthcare has announced plans to invest Rs 850 crore in Kerala over the next three years, focusing on expanding healthcare infrastructure, enhancing medical services, and generating employment in the state.
The investment commitment was revealed by Aster DM Healthcare's Founder and Chairman, Azad Moopen, after his meeting with Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and Industries Minister P. Rajeeve following the Invest Kerala Global Summit. The discussions centered on the state’s healthcare landscape and opportunities for innovation and growth.
Over the past three years, Aster has already invested Rs 500 crore to strengthen Kerala’s healthcare ecosystem.
The company is now set for an aggressive expansion, targeting an increase in bed capacity across its hospitals. By FY27, the total number of beds in Kerala is expected to reach 3,453, up from the current 2,635.
Aster DM Healthcare, which operates seven hospitals in Kerala, generates 53% of its India revenue from the state.
The expansion will be driven by two greenfield projects: Aster Capital Trivandrum, a 454-bed facility, and Aster MIMS Kasargod, which will have 264 beds. Additionally, its flagship hospital, Aster Medcity, will expand to 962 beds by FY27, with 100 beds already added in Q3FY25.
