Aragen constructing a $30 million bio-manufacturing site in Bengaluru

Hospitality and Healthcare  -  Nov 02,2023  -

Bangalore will host a new biologics manufacturing plant being established by Aragen. The roughly 160,000 square metre facility, which is a $30 million investment, has many GMP production suites, process development labs, and quality control (microbiology and analytical) labs as supporting features.

To meet the needs of its fast growing biologics customer base, the manufacturing suites will be outfitted with sophisticated downstream purification capabilities and enhanced processing employing single-use bioreactors.

The facility will provide comprehensive solutions ranging from large-scale DS manufacturing, analytical development, pilot production, process development, and validation to stability services and pilot production. To improve the company's bioproduction capacity in California, it will be able to develop and produce fusion proteins, therapeutic proteins, and mAbs.

The process development laboratory is scheduled to be operational by the third quarter of FY 24 while the first manufacturing suite will open in the third quarter of FY 25.
