The Andhra Pradesh State Investment Promotion Committee (SIPC) has approved development of a 1.25 GW hyperscale data centre campus at Jagnadhapuram village in Anandapuram, Visakhapatnam, with a proposed investment of ₹1.77 lakh crore. The facility will be developed by Data Centre Holdings India, a 50:50 joint venture between RMZ Group and Colt Data Centre Services.

The campus will span about 200 acres and is planned for construction in five phases from 2027 through 2036. The first phase is expected to be operational within 37 months of construction start. Once complete, the facility will house infrastructure for artificial intelligence, cloud computing, enterprise software and data storage systems.

The site was selected for its land availability, reliable power supply, fibre and transport connectivity, and proximity to Visakhapatnam port for importing specialised equipment. The project is expected to generate employment in construction and long-term facility operations, and to create demand in allied sectors including construction materials, engineering, logistics, power, telecom and facility management.

The data centre is part of RMZ's broader US$10 billion investment commitment in Andhra Pradesh, announced at the World Economic Forum 2026 in Davos, under which the company plans to develop digital, industrial, logistics and mixed-use infrastructure in the state over five to six years. The Visakhapatnam data centre is among the first projects to move forward under this plan.

The project has cleared SIPC approval and is awaiting final clearance from the State Investment Promotion Board (SIPB) before development begins.
