Union Home Minister Amit Shah laid the foundation stone for the ₹700-crore Amul Bengal Dairy Project at Sankrail, Howrah, which is set to become the world's largest curd manufacturing plant. The facility will process 30 lakh litres of milk per day and produce 10 lakh kg of curd and other dairy products daily, while also manufacturing UHT milk, ice cream, paneer, ghee, sweets and flavoured milk.

The project is expected to benefit around 2.5 lakh dairy farmers in West Bengal under the White Revolution 2.0 and Sahkar Se Samriddhi initiatives, alongside expanding the state's dairy cooperative network.
