Amas–Darbhanga Expressway: Patna Administration Directs Faster Land Acquisition to Speed Up Construction
Work on a key stretch of the 230-kilometre Amas–Darbhanga greenfield expressway is being accelerated, with Patna district authorities directing officials to expedite land acquisition and clear pending bottlenecks. The expressway links Amas in Gaya district to Darbhanga and forms part of the central government's Bharatmala Pariyojana road infrastructure programme.
The stretch under review passes through Patna district between Ramnagar and Kacchi Dargah. At a meeting of the Project Monitoring Group, Patna district magistrate Thiyagarajan SM instructed the sub-divisional officer of Masaurhi to ensure faster progress through closer coordination among the agencies involved in the project.
The district magistrate emphasised that pending issues, including land-related matters, should be resolved swiftly to avoid further delays in construction.
Once completed, the six-lane expressway is expected to significantly cut travel time between key Bihar districts, including Gaya, Aurangabad, Patna, Vaishali, Samastipur and Darbhanga, improving connectivity between southern and northern parts of the state.
