Airbus India and Mahindra Aerostructures have signed a contract wherein the latter will manufacture the fuselage for the Airbus H130 single-engine helicopter, with the first delivery expected by March 2027.
Minister for Civil Aviation, Ram Mohan Naidu, chaired the signing ceremony on 09 April, 2025.
The event, held at the Ministry of Civil Aviation, was graced by the presence of Secretary Civil Aviation, Vumlunmang Vualnam, President & MD of Airbus India & South Asia Mr Remi Maillard, Group CEO & MD of Mahindra Group Dr Anish Shah and senior leadership of the industry partners.
The eight-seater H130 helicopter is widely used for transport, tourism, medical evacuation, surveillance, and private aviation.
While financial terms of the contract were not disclosed, the fuselage production will take place at Mahindra's facility in Kolar district, Karnataka, with an expected annual output of 60 to 70 units. These assemblies will be shipped to Airbus Helicopters’ facilities in Europe.
Mahindra Aerostructures, part of the Mahindra & Mahindra Group, will handle the main fuselage assembly under the agreement.
Airbus India President and South Asia Managing Director Remi Maillard highlighted Airbus’s increasing investment in India.
“The H130 fuselage contract is the latest in the series of complex systems awarded to Indian companies, including the A220 doors. We are on a trajectory to further grow the ecosystem,” he said.
