Adani Energy Solutions emerges as preferred bidder for HVDC transmission project

Adani Energy Solutions (AESL) has emerged as the preferred bidder for a transmission system project, as part of special purpose vehicle (SPV) “Rajasthan Part-I Power Transmission. The nearly Rs 25,000 crore project would be AESL’s largest order win ever, once iit is formally awarded.

The prefered bid under tariff-based competitive bidding (TBCB) pertains to an interstate transmission system (ISTS) named “Transmission system for evacuation of power from REZ in Rajasthan (20 Gw) under Phase-III Part-I”.

The bid was through a re-tender process, after the earlier tendering process was annulled. Power Grid Corporation of India (PGCIL), Sterlite Power, and Indigrid were other qualified bidders for this project, as per REC Power Development and Consultancy (RECPDCL) website.

The project includes setting up six GW high-voltage direct current (HVDC) terminal stations at Bhadla in Rajasthan) and Fatehpur in UP, transmission line and associated AC network between the two stations.
