A steel manufacturing unit is expanding its industrial building/shed footprint from about 19,621 sqm to a total of 33,851 sqm, adding over 14,229 sqm of built-up area, at Halavarthy village in Davanagere district, Karnataka. The ₹220-crore expansion (₹170 crore existing plus ₹50 crore proposed) is currently under verification with the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change for grant of Environmental Clearance. The expansion is expected to create 20 additional permanent jobs and generate substantial construction-phase employment.
