A major offshore oil and gas expansion project is planned in the Gulf of Khambat, Surat, Gujarat, covering the CB/OS-2 block (174 km²) at an estimated cost of Rs. 42,460 million. Construction will start in November 2024 and finish by January 2025. Environmental clearance is currently under review by the Ministry of Environment, Forest, and Climate Change.
