Project summary
A new 5.0 lakh TPA urea plant using LNG as feedstock is planned to be set up at a Kochi complex in Kerala, as part of the state government's revival package. The project, estimated to cost Rs.13,000 million, is still in the conceptual stage as of February 2018. A previously operational urea plant based on naphtha had been shut down in 2002 due to economic inviability.
