Executive Summary

A new molasses-based distillery project is planned in Rampur, Uttar Pradesh, with an estimated cost of Rs.2,000 million. It includes the establishment of a distillery with a capacity of 160 KLD (molasses-based) or 120 KLD (molasses-based) + 40 KLD (grain-based), accompanied by a 7 MW co-gen power facility. The project has been in the environmental clearance process since July 2019 and underwent public hearings in October 2021. Construction is scheduled to begin in January 2024 and conclude by May 2024. The project also involves sugar production of 1200 TPA and a power generation capacity of 18 MW with an investment of Rs.24 million. Environmental clearance is still underway as of September 2023.
