A new chord line is planned in Jaunpur, Uttar Pradesh, connecting Muftiganj–Jaunpur–Mahgawan Halt and bypassing Jaunpur by 1.5 km. Estimated at Rs. 763.3 million, construction began in February 2025 and is scheduled to finish by March 2027. As of October 2025, the project is under implementation.
