Project summary
A joint venture plans to establish the Kiru hydroelectric project in Jammu & Kashmir, featuring a 123-meter concrete gravity dam across the Chenab River, with a total capacity of 624 MW. Approved in March 2016, it received foundation stone by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in February 2019 and further approval from the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs in March 2019. As of April 2024, REC Ltd will provide a term loan for the project.
