Wistron greenlights $20 million investment for new Karnataka factory line

Infrastructure  -  Dec 30,2024  -

Wistron has approved an initial $20 million investment to establish a new factory line in Karnataka, India.

This move supports the company’s upcoming laptop manufacturing plant in the state and marks a good step in Wistron’s expansion within India’s tech manufacturing sector.

The $20 million investment will be directed to ICT Service Management Solutions (India), a subsidiary of Wistron, to build a production line focused on warranty repair services, inventory management, and logistics for the company’s laptop manufacturing.

Experts suggest this facility will also aid in sourcing parts for laptop production, contributing to both domestic and global supply chains. ICT Service Management Solutions specializes in printed circuit board repairs for personal computers and notebooks.

In January, Wistron signed a memorandum of understanding with the Karnataka government to establish a Rs 1,500 crore laptop manufacturing plant.
