WABAG built 178.3 MLD Water Treatment Plant inaugurated in Coimbatore

Minister of Youth Welfare and Sports Development of Tamil Nadu, Udhayanidhi Stalin, along with Minister for Municipal Administration, Urban & Water Supply, K N Nehru, inaugurated the 178.3 MLD Water Treatment Plant (WTP) in Coimbatore.

This state-of-the-art facility was Designed, Built and Commissioned by VA Tech Wabag limited (WABAG) for its esteemed client, Tamil Nadu Water Supply and Drainage Board (TWAD), under the prestigious Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT) Scheme.

The inauguration of this WTP represents a crucial milestone in addressing the region’s water needs and underscores the unwavering commitment of the Government of Tamil Nadu, led by the Hon’ble Chief Minister, towards ensuring water security for the city.

The ceremony witnessed the presence of distinguished guests, including S Muthusamy, Minister for Housing and Urban Development; D Karthikeyan, Secretary of the Municipal Administration and Water Supplies (MAWS); Kranthi Kumar Pati, District Collector Coimbatore; V Dakshinamoorthy (IAS), TWAD Board, S. Sivarasu, Director of Municipal Administration in the Government of Tamil Nadu; SivaguruPrabakaran Commissioner, Coimbatore Corporation, Saravanan (IAS), JMD, TWAD Board and other dignitaries from various governmental bodies, MAWS, TWAD & WABAG.
