The announcement was made following a Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath at the ongoing Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj.

During the meeting, key proposals were approved to further boost infrastructure, healthcare, and economic development across the state.

As part of its progressive initiatives, the Uttar Pradesh government has also approved the issuance of municipal bonds for the development of urban infrastructure in Prayagraj, Varanasi, and Agra. Minister Sharma revealed that Rs 50 crore has been allocated for each of these three municipal corporations.

The Chief Minister highlighted the success of previously issued municipal bonds in Lucknow and Ghaziabad, which have yielded positive results. “Bonds will now be issued for Prayagraj, Varanasi, and Agra. This is a key medium for branding municipal corporations and fostering their development,” CM Yogi Adityanath stated
