Uniflow Controls Invests ₹50 Crore in Industry 4.0 Control Valve Plant at Ambernath, Maharashtra
Uniflow Controls is investing ₹50 crore (about $5 million) to expand its annual control valve production capacity by more than five times, from around 8,000 units to 40,000-50,000 units. As part of the expansion, the company is developing a new Industry 4.0-compliant manufacturing facility at Ambernath near Mumbai.
The expansion comes as refiners, petrochemical companies, LNG operators and power producers increase capital spending and seek greater domestic availability of critical industrial equipment. Control valves regulate the flow, pressure and temperature of liquids and gases across industrial facilities and are essential to the safe and efficient operation of refineries, chemical plants, LNG facilities, power stations and pharmaceutical manufacturing units. Uniflow plans to focus on high-performance valves designed for demanding operating conditions, including high-pressure, cryogenic, anti-cavitation and corrosion-resistant applications.
The Ambernath facility will integrate several advanced manufacturing technologies, including CNC machinery for precision manufacturing, Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) systems, AI-enabled predictive maintenance, computer-vision-based inspection, Manufacturing Execution Systems, and automated inventory and storage systems with vertical space optimisation. The plant is designed to support faster prototyping, greater production flexibility and more efficient manufacturing.
Managing Director Manoj Mishra said the investment will help the company strengthen its domestic position, expand into emerging sectors such as LNG and nuclear energy, and build the capabilities required to serve global markets. With the new facility, Uniflow aims to create a scalable, technology-led manufacturing platform capable of meeting the evolving requirements of process industries while strengthening its competitiveness in both Indian and global markets.
