TVS Motor Company began manufacturing of the CE 02, its first electric vehicle, which was conceived and built in collaboration with BMW Motorrad, the motorcycle branch of the German carmaker BMW Group.

The two-wheeler will be built at TVS Hosur, which is around 70 km from Bengaluru. The CE 02 is billed as a cross between a motorbike and a scooter, and the target market is young people.

Along with this, the plant also rolled out the 150,000th unit of BMW Motorrad's 310cc series of motrocycles.

This marks 10 years of TVS Motor Company and BMW Motorrad partnership since they first inked a long-term strategic agreement in April 2013 for manufacturing sub-500cc motorcycles for the global market.
