TruAlt Bioenergy to further capacity expansion with Rs 600-crore investment

TruAlt Bioenergy plans to augment its capacity by 2.7 lakh litres per day by the next financial year and will invest around Rs 600 crore towards setting up more plants. Specifically, it will set up 10 more plants, taking its total to 15.

The land has already been identified and these plants will come up in Bijapur in Karnataka and Pune in Maharashtra and is expected to be commissioned in the next financial year. The company's existing plants are also in Bijapur and Pune.

The Bengaluru-based company is also expecting around 30 percent revenue growth in the current FY. TruAlt is primarily engaged in the production of biofuels such as 1G ethanol, 2G ethanol, compressed biogas, sustainable aviation fuel, fermented organic manure, and green hydrogen. It operates five 1G ethanol units with a capacity of two million lpd, and compressed biogas capacity of 10 tpd.

Recently, TurAlt had entered into a USD 72-million compressed biogas joint venture with the GAIL India to set up 10 plants with targeted production of over 33 million kg of compressed biogas using organic waste as raw material.
