Thermax plans to invest Rs 1,000 cr at multiple locations in Gujarat, over the next year. These investments will be made for its own chemical plants, renewable energy capabilities and build-own-operate customer plants for biomass and related facilities.
The company has four manufacturing facilities at Savli, Jhagadia, Dahej and Mundra in Gujarat, and employs about 2,500 persons in the state. Further, it is setting up a big ion exchange resin manufacturing plant at Jhagadia, and will be infusing an additional Rs 45 crore into the Rs 250-crore plant, which is under construction.
However, the plants in Dahej and Mundra are export-oriented. The company produces small and big boilers at Savli, while the Jhagadia plant is largely focused on chemicals.
Thermax exports resins, water treatment chemicals, construction chemicals, large and small boilers, large petrochemical plants, among others.
