Energy and environmental solutions provider Thermax is looking to partner with stakeholders in steel, cement, thermal power, textile and agriculture-based industries like rice mills and fertilizer manufacturing units to foster green manufacturing processes with sustainable and renewable energy.
The company is looking to invest about Rs 100 crore to set up a coal gasification plant in Bengal next year and also exploring the possibility of introducing bio-CNG in the state in the next few years.
Ashish Bhandari, MD and CEO of Thermax said,"Talks are going on with a dozen of industry stakeholders for the implementation of coal gasification - a process whereby coal is partially oxidized to produce fuel gas. We have a robust investment plan in Bengal for coal gasification and we anticipate that we will get a good response from industry partners."
Thermax is also set to come up with 19 bio-CNG plants in different parts of the country.
