The Telangana government has entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Akshat Greentech, a subsidiary of Mytrah Energy, to establish an advanced solar cells and modules manufacturing facility in Hyderabad.
This agreement, signed during the World Economic Forum (WEF) 2025 in Davos, highlights the state's commitment to renewable energy development.
Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, IT and Industries Minister D Sridhar Babu, and representatives from Akshat Greentech, including Director Girish Gelli, were present during the signing. The facility will have a capacity to produce 6.9 GW each of solar cells and modules, requiring an investment of Rs 7,000 crore.
It is expected to create direct employment for over 2,500 people, contributing to local employment and economic growth.
This initiative marks a milestone in Telangana's renewable energy ambitions, aligning with its recently launched Clean and Green Energy Policy.
The World Economic Forum 2025, being held from January 20 to 24 in Davos-Klosters, has seen active participation from Indian states like Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, and Telangana, which are drawing investments across various sectors
