Tata Projects bags Villivakkam-Kolathur underground stretch of Chennai Metro phase II project
Infrastructure - Jul 27,2023 -Work on Chennai's underground construction in places like Kolathur and Villivakkam, Metro Rail service is anticipated to commence soon.
Tata Projects has won the lowest bid for one of the most significant and final civil contracts for the phase II project to construct an underground passageway that connects communities like Villivakkam and Kolathur.
The project's three corridors—Madhavaram to SIPCOT (45.4 km), Light House to Poonamallee (26.1 km), and Madhavaram to Sholinganallur (44.6 km)—will make up the majority of its approximately 116 km length throughout the city. For the subterranean section from Kolathur to Villivakkam, a crucial project, Tata Projects submitted the lowest proposal.
The stretch will be underground, covers a distance of about 5 km and will make stops at five locations – Kolathur, Srinivasa Nagar, Villivakkam, Villivakkam Bus Terminus, and Villivakkam MTH Road.
