Tata Power Renewable to invest Rs 49,000 crore in green projects in Andhra Pradesh

Tata Power Renewable Energy (TPREL), a subsidiary of Tata Power, has signed a deal with Andhra Pradesh to explore opportunities to develop up to 7 gigawatts (GW) of renewable energy — including solar, wind, and hybrid projects with or without storage solutions. It is likely to attract investments worth Rs 49,000 crore, making it one of the largest renewable energy investments in the state.

The company signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the government of Andhra Pradesh in Amaravati, marking a significant step towards advancing the state’s renewable energy ambitions.

The estimated investment in these projects stands at approximately up to Rs 49,000 crore as per the company. This also, makes it one of the largest renewable energy investments in the state.

Tata Power has been buzzing with news flow pertaining to projects . In end February 2025, TP Solar Limited, Tata Power’s Solar Manufacturing Arm, had won Rs 632 crore Contract from Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI) to Supply of 292.5 MWp DCR Solar Modules.
